A few years ago, I was inspired by some great people to put together a "life vision statement." Sounds fancy, but basically it's a this is what I feel my purpose in life may be statement.
Can I share it with you?
My life vision is "to see myself and those that I come in contact with radically changed by a relationship with Jesus Christ; to see people living free lives, full of purpose and love, all for the Glory of God."
Free lives, full of purpose and love. Doesn't that sound amazing?
"Free lives, full of purpose and love." This is the is the part of my vision that has been ringing in my ears for weeks and months.
When I came to Jesus, I didn't even know that I was bound. Life was life. Survival was the goal.
But then He began to reveal things and heal things that I didn't even think to ask about. He's good like that.
My first taste of freedom looked like forgiving my enemies. My second taste of freedom looked like being myself - my real self.
My third taste of freedom was seeing His world with new eyes and a new mind.
I've tasted and seen so much more and I know that there's more freedom in store.
I want everyone to get in on this freedom that I've found. A funny thing about freedom, in order to receive it, first you must be bound.
Bound.
What does that mean? To confine. To encircle. To restrict.
Where is your life confined? What's restricted in your mind, emotions, and heart that needs sweet release?
Sometimes there are lines drawn around our lives that we don't even know exist. We need Someone who can look inside and be - wait for it - honest.
Jesus' honest answers followed by our obedient response can change literally everything. And yes, set us completely free.
Why don't we taste and see?
